Old Clearwater Posted Monday, December 5, 2011 06:19 PM All of us remember Clearwater from fifty years ago. I recall Gulf to Bay as unpaved as a shell road. Howard the Trader was the best show on television along with Popeye cartoons. I loved the smell of orange blossoms in the spring. We all recall picnics at Sand Key with Australian pines for a skyline. Share some of your memories. |

RE: Old Clearwater Posted Monday, December 5, 2011 10:02 PM Dad used to rent wooden boats from Smittys in Dunedin. We'd fish Hurricane pass and around Honeymoon Island. |

RE: Old Clearwater Posted Tuesday, December 6, 2011 10:10 AM This was the Sunset Point Hotel in the 1950s. It was a beauty. Lester Dicus was the owner/manager. He was also Clearwater's Postmaster. I lived across the street in the Bay Queen Motel. Both have since been torn down.

Old Clearwater Posted Sunday, April 7, 2013 09:17 AM Of course we all remember the dances at the Clearwater Auditorium down at the foot of Cleveland Street. Went to many "Star Spectaculars" there (Roy Orbison, Leslie Gore, the 4 Seasons, etc.) |
